Hey, can I ask you something real quick?
Just pause for a sec. Let everything drop.
Now take a slow breath in… 1… 2… 3… 4… Hold it—just for a moment. And now exhale gently… all the way out to the count of 8 🌬️
Feel that shift? Like your body just whispered, “Thanks.” 💖

Can Support You
Support Emotional Wellbeing
Art therapy offers a refreshingly different way to support your emotional wellbeing—one that doesn’t rely on words alone. Through creative expression, you get to explore what you’re feeling, make sense of those emotions, and discover new ways to cope. It’s not about being “good” at art—it’s about giving yourself space to breathe, reflect, and grow.
As you engage in the process, you may notice a shift: increased clarity, greater resilience, and a deeper connection to yourself. It’s gentle, empowering, and surprisingly transformative
Assist in Processing Grief
Art therapy offers a gentle way to navigate sorrow, grief, and those heavy emotions that can come with life’s curveballs—including the emotional weight of a medical diagnosis.
Whether it’s the shock of hearing the words for the first time, the uncertainty that follows, or the quiet ache of adjusting to a new reality, art gives you a safe space to process it all.
It’s not about fixing—it’s about expressing what’s hard to put into words, feeling more grounded in your experience, and finding a sense of calm in the chaos.
Support Trauma Processing
Art therapy gently supports the processing of trauma by offering a safe, non-verbal way to explore what’s been too overwhelming to say out loud.
Instead of needing to explain or relive painful experiences, you’re invited to express through colour, texture, and movement—whatever feels right in the moment.
This creative process helps you connect with emotions that may have been buried or tangled, allowing you to release, reflect, and begin to make sense of your story in a way that feels empowering.
It’s not about perfection—it’s about presence. And in that presence, self-care begins.
Are you facing challenges such as emotional dysregulation, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, or self-sabotage?
Perhaps you're struggling to cope with an illness or trauma, or simply want to delve into your emotions while fostering a growth mindset.
Maybe you have a child who is struggling to cope with big emotions, dealing with bullying or other life challenges.
If so, Mobile Art Therapy is exactly what you need to unlock your potential and embrace positive change.
There are limitations to what an Art Therapy Practitioner can offer.
At Starlah Rose, we understand that navigating mental health concerns can be challenging, and we are here to support you. However, it is important to note that we are not equipped to diagnose or treat clinical mental health disorders.
If you have received a diagnosis or are seeking one, we encourage you to reach out to your GP for a referral to a qualified clinical psychologist or psychiatrist. These professionals have the training and resources to provide you with the specialised care you deserve.
Your well-being is our priority, and we want to ensure you receive the best possible support.
A Few Art Activities to Explore
Paint & Draw
Art therapy includes all kinds of creative practices—but sometimes, the simplest ones are the most powerful. Drawing, painting, and playing with colour can help you express what’s going on inside, even when words feel out of reach.
You’ll have access to a variety of materials—canvas, paper, board—and mediums like watercolours, acrylics, pastels, or coloured pencils. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Just you, your emotions, and a safe space to explore.
As you create, you’ll be gently guided to express thoughts and feelings that might be hard to say out loud. It’s a process that can open up new pathways to emotional clarity, personal insight, and a deeper sense of calm.
Freeform
Freeform scribbling might seem simple, but it’s a powerful way to soothe your nervous system and reconnect with yourself.
There’s no structure, no rules—just the freedom to move your hand and let your emotions flow. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need a moment of calm, this gentle practice invites relaxation and peace.
The repetitive motion of scribbling can feel meditative, helping to quiet anxious thoughts and bring clarity to your mind. It’s a way to shift your focus from inner chaos to creative calm—one line at a time.
This kind of art-making isn’t about creating something perfect. It’s about creating space—for your emotions, your breath, and a gentle reconnection with self.
Mindful Mandala
Mindful mandala-making is more than just a creative exercise—it’s a calming ritual that helps you slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
As you draw or colour your mandala, you’ll naturally enter a meditative state. The repetitive patterns and gentle focus ease stress, quiet the mind, and invite a sense of inner peace.
This practice also encourages self-reflection. Each shape and colour becomes a mirror, helping you tune into your thoughts and emotions with compassion and clarity.
Adding mandalas to your routine can be a beautiful way to support your mental well-being and nurture personal growth—one mindful moment at a time.
The examples provided are only a small selection of art therapy activities we can explore to help you process your emotions. Together, we will identify the best options to foster a resilient growth mindset, encouraging you to view challenges as opportunities for personal growth and development.

We know that starting something new can bring up questions. Here are some of the most common questions we get asked about art therapy and how it can help you
No experience is required! Art therapy is all about self-expression, not skill.
If you’re seeking a creative way to process emotions and release stress, art therapy can be a great fit!
That all depends on you and your needs. There are no set schedules or timeframes when it comes to your personal needs and goals. You set when and how often you want to have a session.
Suzana, our art therapy practitioner, brings the basic art supplies you will need to explore your emotions with. However, if you have a more elaborate art project in mind, then you may need to supply your own materials. It is a good idea to have a set of art materials at home to do some 'homework' with.
Unfortunately, art therapy practitioner services are not covered by MHCP. However, we keep our prices low to help minimize your out-of-pocket expenses, making them comparable to those of services that charge full price.
Our Art Therapy Practitioner, Suzana, is registered with AHPRA for her nursing (RN) and with IICT for her Diploma in Art Therapy. She also has a Trauma-Informed Certificate for Coaches. She has both PI and PL insurance through IICT
